The Baseline MOCON BevAlert 8900 is a specialized PID-based gas chromatograph built on the Series 8900 multipurpose GC platform for monitoring trace impurities in beverage-grade carbon dioxide. Manufacturer application literature says the BevAlert 8900 is configured for direct measurement of acetaldehyde, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes in CO2 using a photoionization detector, proprietary GC columns, and a timed backflush arrangement that strips off moisture and heavier hydrocarbons before analysis. Published BevAlert 8900 specifications describe a nominal 720 second analysis time, capillary column, nominal 85 °C oven temperature, nitrogen carrier gas at 20 cc/min nominal, automatic calibration, automatic baseline adjustment, RS-232 with optional LAN, concentration and diagnostic alarm relays, and analog outputs for ABTEX concentration reporting. The broader Series 8900 platform was designed as a compact bench or rack-mount multipurpose GC capable of standalone operation or PC operation with SkyChrom software, with user-definable analog, digital, and relay outputs. Used; see photos. Buyer should verify suitability for their exact application before purchase.
