NP-20 is the classic soft, triangular si₃n₄ workhorse for contact/force in air or liquid.

-Material/geometry: silicon nitride, triangular lever(s) with oxide-sharpened pyramidal tip. four levers per chip with different dims (a–d), so you pick stiffness/f₀ per experiment.
-Tip: nominal ~20 nm radius (literature often reports ~20–60 nm depending on batch/wear).
-Mechanics (typical): k ≈ 0.06–0.32 n/m across the lever set; lengths ~120/205 µm seen in common configs.
-Modes it likes: contact mode in air/fluids, tapping in fluid, and low-force force–distance work on soft stuff (cells, gels, polymers).
What people use NP-20 for:
-Soft-matter/biology imaging in buffer (gentle k, low damage), e.g., cells, biofilms, hydrogels.
