Solid platinum contact mode conductive workhorse. Some highlights:
-Solid PT tip and cantilever: always conductive as it wears; no flaky coating nonsense.
-Sharp: tip radius <20 nm standard; <10 nm variant available (sku 25pt400b-10).
-Geometry/mech: ~400×110×4.5 µm lever, ~80 µm tip height; k nominal 6–8 n/m; f₀ ~9–10 khz (wide tolerances bc hand-drawn metal).
-Electrical layout: lever bonded to a gold pad with conductive epoxy; full-metal reflective coating (pt).
-Extended metallic shank: lower stray capacitance, better rf/microwave coupling at the tip–sample junction.
What you use it for in afm:
-C-AFM/TUNA: DC/low-level current mapping in contact mode on semis/oxides/films.
-SCM (scanning capacitance microscopy): dopant profiling / depletion capacitance contrast.
-SMM/SMIM (scanning microwave microscopy/impedance microscopy): nano-permittivity/impedance contrast where that long pt shank actually helps.
