The Mitre Guillotine SMI is a foot-operated manual miter cutting machine used primarily in picture framing and frame-shop work to make clean, accurate 45° corner cuts in wood moulding. Manuals for the SMI-type FRAMER guillotine describe a vertical mitring head carrying two blades mounted at 90° to each other, with the head able to move horizontally in multiple “bites” for wider mouldings and a final finishing cut. The design also includes adjustable fences, rebate supports to protect the thin rebate edge of picture-frame moulding during cutting, and provisions for a dust chute and collection bag. This style of guillotine / miter chopper remains a standard framing-shop tool for producing precise miters and trimming frame stock to final fit.
Due to the size and weight of the system it must be shipped via freight. Buyer is responsible for freight shipping costs.
