From the manufacturer, "Skalar PRIMACS SLC CS22 Total Organic Carbon Analyzer; designed for true TOC analysis on both solid and liquid samples, with separate determination of Total Carbon (TC) and Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC) and automatic calculation of Total Organic Carbon (TOC TC - TIC). The PRIMACS SLC uses a dual-furnace design with high-temperature catalytic combustion up to 1050°C and NDIR detection for carbon measurement, while TIC is determined by automatic acidification and purging. Strengths of this platform include its back-flush system for accurate low-level work, unique vertical bottom-to-top sample introduction that helps keep ash in the reusable quartz crucible and reduces contamination and maintenance, and automatic balance interfacing for streamlined operation. Published specs list a measuring range of 0.001 to 100%, analytical range of 0.005 to 120 mg C absolute, typical analysis time of approximately 3 to 5 minutes, solid sample capacity up to 3 g, liquid sample size up to 1000 µL, reproducibility of less than 2% RSD, and operating requirements of 110 to 120 V or 220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz. Typical applications include soils, plants, sediments, sludges, waste, wastewater, cement, mining samples, high-particulate liquids, swab validation samples, and even acidic or alkaline solutions."
