Lab Liquidators LLC is selling a Tested Leybold Oerlikon TURBOVAC TW 690MS turbomolecular pump system; this is the TW 700-class / TW 700-equivalent platform. Pump model 800052V0001, power supply model 800075V0001. This unit is tested working and pulled down to 2×10⁻⁷ Torr in our setup as shown in the photos using an ion gauge.
We pumped it down on our turbo test station, and it worked well as expected. Has some minor cosmetic damage on the fan shroud, but it doesn't affect operation. See photos.
For published performance, this platform is rated around 680 L/s on N₂/Ar, 530 L/s on He, and 300 L/s on H₂ (PNEUROP reference). Nominal operating speed is 48,000 rpm with typical ~5 minute run-up time. Maximum permissible forevacuum/backing pressure is 14 mbar.
This TW 690MS is a compound turbo: it has a classic turbomolecular stack up front, plus an integrated molecular drag stage (think Holweck/Gaede-style grooves) on the back end. The drag section keeps compressing gas efficiently even when you’re not yet in the “pure molecular flow” sweet spot; that’s why people call it a wide-range turbo. In practice that means it can start and operate at higher inlet/foreline pressures, tolerate more gas load during pumpdown, and is generally less finicky about backing conditions than a plain turbo; you still need a backing pump, but you get a broader, more forgiving operating window and faster, smoother pumpdowns from rough into high vacuum.
Power and drive details: included is the Leybold TD 690 MS controller, which is the same ecosystem as the TURBO.DRIVE 700 family (comparable replacement pump). It runs on 59 VDC nominal (allowed 53–60 VDC), with <2% ripple recommended. Power draw is up to 500 W, with current on the order of 7.5 A max continuous and 8.5 A max. If you’re running longer DC input cables, the usual guidance is to size wiring appropriately (example: up to 20 m using 3x2.5 mm² conductors).
Connections and practical integration: this turbo uses a DN160 ISO-K style inlet, with DN25 KF forevac connection and a DN16 KF purge port. Pump weight is roughly 16.5 kg. Noise is rated under ~47 dB(A) air-cooled. Operating ambient is typically 10-45 °C, and ingress protection is IP20.
Included in the sale: the TW 690MS pump (800052V0001), the TD 690 MS drive (800076V0001), the pump-to-drive cable, and a 59 VDC input lead that terminates in raw wires on the supply side so you can land it to your preferred DC source/connector. Photos show exactly what’s included and the pump’s demonstrated vacuum performance.
Does not include the ion gauge, other flanges, or bellows or roughing pump in this purchase. If you need those, we can sell them to you separately.
