About this model of microplate reader: "The Molecular Devices SpectraMax M2 is a versatile multi-mode microplate reader designed for labs that need both UV/Vis absorbance and fluorescence detection in one compact instrument. Built around dual scanning monochromators rather than fixed filters, the SpectraMax M2 offers flexible wavelength selection for method development and routine assay work, with absorbance from 200 to 1000 nm in 1 nm increments, fluorescence excitation from 250 to 850 nm, emission from 360 to 850 nm, 0 to 4.0 OD photometric range, 0.001 OD resolution, xenon flash lamp illumination, and support for endpoint, kinetic, spectral scan, and well-scan read modes. The unit accepts a wide range of plate formats from 6- to 384-well and is well suited for DNA, RNA, and protein quantitation, ELISA and enzyme kinetics, drug dissolution, Live/Dead and cytotoxicity assays, protease and caspase assays, and other absorbance- or fluorescence-based workflows. Molecular Devices’ PathCheck technology provides pathlength correction to 1 cm cuvette-equivalent measurements in microplates, helping improve quantitative accuracy while reducing the need for extra standards and dedicated single-purpose readers."
